JaVaWa GPS-tools

This site is mainly in Dutch, but there are a few pages in English (and one in German):

JaVaWa MapConverter
JaVaWa MapConverter converts Garmin maps in the old format (those who use configuration settings in the Windows Registry) to the new .gmap format.

Garmin's MapConverter is able to convert maps only when they have references in the Windows Registry. JaVaWa MapConverter goes beyond that: it can create a .gmap map out of a collection of several files; not only under Windows, but on the Mac too!

IMGfromGPX
Creating a map based on GPX files for your GPS and for MapSource/BaseCamp on your computer is possible with several existing programs, but it's certainly not easy to accomplish. With IMGfromGPX it's a matter of a few mouse clicks! This program can generate a map with the following features:

Track analyser
This is a web-application for analysing tracks. After uploading a GPX file you are presented a overview with information about time, distance, elevation, ascent & descent, speed etc.; an elevation graph, a speed graph, a map with the track and a table with data of all track points and the track segments in between.

GetKML
Several handy programs exist like MacGPX and WinGDB3 which can convert KML and KMZ files to GPX files.
However, some KML or KMZ files don't contain (or just a few) placemarks and/or paths, while Google Earth shows them (all). In that case the file contains "Network Links". Network links are references to other KML/KMZ files, usually on the internet. MacGPX and WinGDB3 cannot handle these references, so placemarks and paths in those referenced files are not converted.
With GetKML you can combine this kind of files to a single GPX file, which in turn you can open with MacGPX or WinGDB3 for further processing.

CleanEject
When you connect USB-disks, camera's, GPS devices and similar to the Mac several invisible files and folders will be generated; when putting files on it several more invisible files will be created.
When you delete files, they are moved to the folder .Trashes still taking up disk space; to get rid of them you need to empty the Trashcan.
These phenomena are generally not wanted, and in certain cases they even can disrupt the proper working of the device.
To prevent this the program CleanEject was created.

MacGPX
MacGPX is an application to convert data in GPX files in multiple ways. There are options to 'de-flag' routes, convert routes or a collection of waypoints to tracks. Tracks can be filtered to reduce the number of trackpoints and there are options to convert for Google Earth and Google Maps.

Use City Navigator Europe NT 2009 with MapSource 6.13.7
When you install City Navigator Europe NT 2009 (or a nüMaps Lifetime update for this map), MapSource 6.14.1 or 6.15.3 will be installed too. 6.14.1 is much slower than 6.13.7; on an older PC it might even be unworkable (not to mention the ugly distortion of the maps). 6.15.3 is faster than 6.14.1, but this version has some nasty bugs. (And it's still slower than 6.13.7)
The problem is that MapSource 6.13.7 cannot use these maps, because the files have a new format (actually the same as RoadTrip for Mac OS X uses).

Some members of the German forum Naviboard.de found a solution to convert the new files to the format that MapSource 6.13.7 uses. Their solution is not so easy to use, so I created the program MapReverseConverter to make te conversion process easier.
MapReverseConverter is an universal program, not only for City Navigator Europe NT 2009, but for any map in the new format.
